2024 Year in review! Jones Beach Theater 2024 highlights!

It’s safe to say that New York had a mighty awesome year 2024 – concert wise! The entertainment scene saw the arrivals of some groundbreaking artists and world class performers. June
Like most outdoor theaters, Jones Beach Theater opens during the summer. And at the drop of June, the venue opened with monumental performances, including that of the legendary Willie Nelson. The king of outlaw music brought in his highly rated festival, the Outlaw Music Festival, on Saturday, June 29th. The headliners – Willie Nelson and Family were joined by the equally legendary Bob Dylan, Robert Plant and Allison Kraus. With fire performances, these country and folk heavyweights sure brought in the heat early!
July
It became quite warm in July and that means remarkable performances came over to ignite the stage. The Diamond selling quintet Maroon 5 came to light up Jones Beach Theater on Tuesday, July 3rd. The band belted out their earth shattering hits, such as “Moves Like Jagger,” “Sugar,” “Payphone,” “Sunday Morning,” and tons more. A few days later, the venue welcomed the monster touring machine, Dave Matthews Band. When the season becomes warm, out comes the monumental jam rock icons from Virginia. In true DMB fashion, the septet showcased some incredible artistry through their onstage improv and extended solos.
Female power came to light as Alanis Morisette was joined by Joan Jett and The Blackhearts and Morgan Wade on Wednesday, July 10th. The month also brought in some amazing artists like Jason Aldean, Third Eye Blind, Yellowcard, Slightly Stoopid and Dirtyheads, Santanam and the Counting Crows.

August
July opened with a bang, but so did August! “Radioactive” icons Imagine Dragons took over on Friday, August 2nd. The show was a literal blast as the band delivered gargantuan hits like “Believer,” “Fire in These Hills,” “Whatever It Takes,” “Bad Liar,” and many more. The setlist was packed to the max with over 20 songs. The very next day, a very exciting pop extravaganza took over! It was time for the kids to have a turn in top caliber entertainment and the Kidz Bop Live surely brought a family friendly showdown.
Speaking of pop, the month also saw the groundbreaking return of iconic pop hitmakers, New Kids On the Block and The Beach Boys. Besides pop, Jones Beach Theater also welcomed the arrival of country duo Dan + Shay, Barbie the Movie in Concert, Lynyrd Skynyrd and ZZ Top, Avril Lavigne, and the legendary James Taylor and His All-Star Band.
September
If you thought August was exciting, wait til you hear about the month of September at the Jones Beach Theater. On the first of August, Deep Purple dove in and showed American audiences that they’re still king of progressive rock. The band shelled out a massive setlist packed with legendary titles like “Highway Star,” “Smoke on the Water,” “Hard Lovin’ Man,” and “Black Night.” It was an evening with almost 20 songs and fans definitely had the best time with the band’s dynamic prog spectacle.
The month also welcomed the arrivals of amazing bands like Hootie and the Blowfish, Megadeth, Staind, and Breaking Bejamin. But solo artists also came to play. Jones Beach Theater lit up with remarkable sets from Pitbull and Post Malone. To say that these artists had audiences going into a grand frenzy is an understatement.
October
October was quite chilly already but that didn’t stop music lovers from checking out hip-hop and soul phenom Anderson .Paak. The singer-songwriter was accompanied by the exhilarating band, The Freenationals. The Grammy winning performer covered his critically acclaimed catalog, which included “Bubblin,” “Come Home,” “The Bird,” and “Malibu.” The show was nothing short of amazing, with Anderson .Paak showcasing some pretty sick skills – singing, rapping, and performing some senational covers, including “Dang!” from Mac Miller as his final song. This show brought in stellar reviews and fans were raving about it for days. “The vibes in the pit section were stellar and the view looking back towards the stadium seats was quite remarkable. I loved being so close as you see so many details and nuances in the performance that you’d never even think of,” said Jared S. from Oceanside, New York.
